Very slow people at this store 20 mins to fill propane..n i called for a price n it took 10 minutes to find out they dont have it
I was just in Plummers for the last time tonight. As you entered the store there was a group collecting signatures to put in a Casino in Oxford county. Apparently they also had a group in there collecting signatures to overturn the same sex marriage law. Im sorry, I didnt realize I was shopping at the Oak Hill General Store! If you have political beliefs, fine. We all do. But why turn away 50% of your customers? You shouldnt worry about red or blue state crap. Just the state of the green coming in. I went out of my way to shop there because it was a local business. Never again.

Don't worry about Chris' report. That was ages ago. The store has recently undergone a thorough remodel, and the new layout is very handy. This store has everything. WONDERFUL custom meats. The on site butcher will do anything to please you. They also have a full bakery, featuring breads, rolls, cakes and pies. Their weekly specials are well advertised. I have two large big-box super markets within 5 miles of my home. I still go to Plummers market when I need a few items.
I grew up about a mile from Plummer's and shopped there frequently with my mother. I have lived in Biddeford, Portland, South Portland and Dayton and still drive to Plummer's to buy meat. They EASILY have the best meat around. I will never buy meat from anyone but Plummer's or a specialty butcher. The people that work there are nice. The prices on most things are a little bit more expensive than Hannaford or Shaw''s, but I would rather give my money to a local grocer than to the big chain stores.
So, forget Chris' political rant. Plummers Market is well stocked, is very service oriented, and the folks there are friendly and helpful. It's where all the locals come to get great deals.
